Partners
Neil Kingston
Originally from Cheshire, Neil graduated from Newcastle-upon-Tyne University in 1972 and joined the practice after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1976. Neil became a partner in 1980 and Senior Partner in 1998. As the firm’s Audit Compliance Partner, regulated clients, family owned companies, pension fund audits and solicitor accounts rules assignments all fall under Neil’s remit, although he also maintains an active supervisory responsibility for certain partnerships, private estates and the practice administration.
Steve Archer
Steve joined Geens in 1986, qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1987 and became a partner in 1992. Since then, he has developed and managed the firm’s ever growing unincorporated business department, dealing with a diverse portfolio of clients from business start-ups to long established traders and partnerships. In addition to preparing client accounts and assisting in payroll and VAT matters, Steve and his team look after the personal taxation affairs of their clients, and assist in installing the latest IT accounting and payroll systems.
Carl France
After joining the practice in 1982 and gaining some ‘larger’ company audit experience at Geens in the 1980’s, Carl became manager of the busy Corporate Business Department. He now specialises in a wide variety of owner-managed companies, clubs and charities under Companies Act, Industrial & Provident Act and Charities Act legislation.
Karen Lowe
Karen joined Geens in 1994 having graduated from Liverpool University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1998. She was appointed partner in April 2003 and specialises in company and non-statutory audits, regulated client compliance and professional partnerships, such as solicitors, pension schemes and clients in the financial sector.
