Self-Employment Income Support Scheme

The Self-Employment Support Scheme system has gone live today (at 8am).

Please see our previous posts on the scheme details and eligibility (Update No 14 05/05/20) and (Update No 15 06/05/20).

The link to the claim system is:

HMRC are phasing claims so not everyone can claim today but everyone will be able to claim over the next few days.

The claim must be made by the taxpayer and not us (as your agent). We have already guided people through the system which does appear to be straightforward.

You will need your:

  • Self Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) – if you do not know this please contact us.
  • National Insurance number
  • Government Gateway user ID and password – if you do not have a user ID, you can create one when you make your claim but you will need your passport or driving licence to verify your identity.
  • UK bank account details

When your claim is made the system calculates the grant you are entitled to based on the tax returns submitted previously, and you can see the amount calculated before the claim is submitted. The maximum grant is £7,500. If you would like us to check HMRC’s grant calculation, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

We remain here to support you in these strange times. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to discuss anything at all.
